Shana Hope — Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern all services provided by Shana Hope (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including paint color consultations, finish recommendations, and related design services (collectively, the “Services”). By booking or using our Services, you agree to the following terms.
1. Payment Terms
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment.
For hourly “Designer on Call” services, a minimum of one (1) hour is required upfront. Any additional time will be billed separately.
All fees are non-refundable except as outlined below.
2. Travel Fees & Service Area
Standard in-home consultation pricing applies within the Lower Hudson Valley.
Projects requiring extended travel, bridge crossings, or tolls may incur an additional fee. Any travel-related charges will be clearly communicated and approved prior to booking.
3. Scope of Services
Shana Hope provides paint color recommendations and, where applicable, guidance on finishes and related materials.
Services are consultative in nature. Final decisions, purchases, and implementation are the responsibility of the Client.
4. Client Responsibility: Sample Testing
Paint colors can vary significantly depending on lighting, surroundings, and time of day.
Clients are responsible for testing all recommended paint colors in their space prior to final selection, painting, or purchasing materials.
Shana Hope is not responsible for dissatisfaction with final results once paint has been applied.
5. Client Responsibility: Measurements & Purchasing
For any shopping, sourcing, or styling guidance provided:
Clients are responsible for verifying all measurements—including room dimensions, ceiling heights, stairwells, and entryways—prior to purchasing items.
Shana Hope is not responsible for items that do not fit, or for any associated return costs, delays, or fees.
6. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds
Before Project Commencement
If no project materials (questionnaire, photos, etc.) have been submitted, cancellations within 30 days of purchase are eligible for a refund minus a 5% processing fee. After 30 days, payments are non-refundable.
After Project Commencement
Once project materials have been submitted, the consultation process has begun and no refunds will be issued. Payments may be applied as a credit toward a future service.
Rescheduling
Appointments may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice.
Rescheduling requests made within 48 hours will incur a $50 fee.
7. Deliverables & Revisions
Consultations include a written summary of recommendations. Physical samples may be provided when applicable.
Any additional revisions, extended sourcing, or work beyond the original scope will be billed at the standard hourly rate.
8. Intellectual Property
All materials provided—including written recommendations, palettes, and documents—are the property of Shana Hope and are intended for personal use only.
These materials may not be copied, shared, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shana Hope is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our Services.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Paint selection outcomes
Contractor or painter execution
Material or product performance
Purchasing decisions made by the Client
10. No Guarantees
While every recommendation is made with professional care and expertise, results may vary based on factors outside our control.
No specific outcome or result is guaranteed.
11. Changes to Terms
These Terms may be updated at any time. The most current version will always be available upon request or on our website.
12. Acceptance of Terms
By booking or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
