Terms & Policies: A transparent overview of how Shana Hope services work.
Booking & Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking to reserve your appointment.
For hourly Designer on Call services, a minimum of one hour is required upfront. Any additional time will be billed separately.
All services are non-refundable except as outlined below.
In-Home Consultations
Standard in-home consultation pricing applies within the Lower Hudson Valley.
Projects requiring additional travel, bridge crossings, or tolls may incur an added fee. Any such charges will always be communicated and approved in advance.
If you need to reschedule an in-home appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Changes made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment time will incur a $50 rescheduling fee.
Online E-Design Consultations
Online E-Design consultations are designed to provide clear, personalized guidance for your space.
Project materials are reviewed in advance to ensure thoughtful and accurate recommendations.
Cancellations, Refunds & Transfers
If no project materials have been submitted for review, cancellation requests made within 30 days of purchase may be eligible for a refund, minus a processing fee of 5% or $25, whichever is greater.
Project materials may include:
Photos
Drawings
Measurements
Sample selections
Additional project details submitted for review
Once any project materials have been submitted, the consultation is considered in progress and is non-refundable, regardless of service type.
However, the fee may be transferred within 30 days of purchase to:
another Shana Hope service, or
another individual
All services reflect time and expertise invested in your project and are delivered in good faith based on the information provided at the time of consultation.
In-home consultations are non-refundable once the consultation has been completed, as services are based on professional time, expertise, travel, and customized recommendations. If concerns arise regarding the original recommendations, clients are encouraged to reach out with photos and details for further review. Any additional revisions or follow-up work beyond the original scope may be billed separately.
Sample Testing
Paint colors can vary significantly depending on lighting, surroundings, and time of day.
All recommended colors should be tested in your space before making a final decision, painting, or purchasing materials.
If something feels off beyond personal preference, clients are expected to share clear photos of their sample testing along with any specific concerns.
Images should be taken in natural light and include a piece of white paper to provide an accurate point of reference.
This allows for thoughtful refinement of the original recommendations when appropriate.
Shana Hope is not responsible for dissatisfaction with final results once paint has been applied.
Shana Hope is not responsible for variations in color resulting from differences in paint brands, finishes, application methods, or third-party color matching by painters or suppliers.
Color appearance may also vary based on paint sheen and application; final results are the responsibility of the client and their contractor.
Measurements & Purchasing
If shopping, sourcing, or styling guidance is provided, clients are responsible for verifying all measurements before purchasing.
This includes room dimensions, ceiling heights, stairwells, entryways, and any other fit considerations.
Shana Hope is not responsible for items that do not fit, or for any associated return costs, delays, or fees.
Deliverables & Additional Work
Consultations include a written summary of recommendations. Physical samples may be provided when applicable. Shana Hope is not responsible for delays related to product availability, shipping, sample delivery, or other third-party factors.
Any revisions, extended sourcing, or work beyond the original scope will be billed at the standard hourly rate.
Use of Images
Shana Hope may occasionally request permission to photograph or share images of completed spaces for portfolio or marketing purposes.
No images of your home will be used publicly without your prior written consent.
Intellectual Property
All written recommendations, palettes, documents, and other materials provided by Shana Hope are for personal use only.
They may not be copied, shared, distributed, or used commercially without written permission.
Limitation of Liability
Shana Hope is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of these services, including but not limited to paint outcomes, contractor execution, product performance, or purchasing decisions.
Shana Hope is not responsible for the performance, workmanship, or execution of any contractor, painter, or third-party service provider.
Shana Hope is not responsible for project delays related to product availability, contractor scheduling, or other third-party factors.
No Guarantees
Every recommendation is made with professional care and expertise, but results may vary based on factors outside our control. Specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Updates to These Terms
These Terms & Policies may be updated from time to time. The most current version will always be available upon request or on the website.

By booking or using these services, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these Terms & Policies.
